Cochrane & Company aquires J. L. Von Arx and Associates

Cochrane & Company announces the acquisition of J. L. Von Arx and Associates, a Los Angeles, CA based Surplus Lines Wholesaler. 

Established in 1985, J. L. Von Arx is a family-owned surplus lines wholesaler providing insurance programs for Garage, Property And Casualty,  Transportation and other insurance products.  Following the transaction, the existing J. L. Von Arx employees will join Cochrane & Company and merge into Cochrane's Santa Ana, CA underwriting operation where they will continue to serve former Von Arx clients and access additional product offerings available through Cochrane & Company.

All Risks' Matthew Nichols Elected as New President of NAPSLO

Matthew Nichols has been elected President of the National Association of Professional Surplus Lines Offices, Ltd. (NAPSLO) for the 2013 term.  Matt has served on the NAPSLO board since 2005 and has chaired several committees.  Currently, he is the President of All Risks, Ltd., the largest independent property and casualty wholesale insurance brokerage firm in the nation.  Previously, Matt has served senior positions at Colony Management Services, Inc. in Richmond, Virginia.  Matt is a 20-year insurance industry veteran and holds an ASLI designation.

WORLDWIDE FACILITIES PURCHASES RENEWAL RIGHTS — JIM SCE AND HOPPY STAUFFER JOIN WORLDWIDE 

Davis Moore, President of Worldwide Facilities, Inc. announced today that, effective February 1, 2012, Worldwide is purchasing the renewal rights to a portion of the Casualty and Healthcare business from Pacific Wholesale Insurance Brokers (PWIB), LLC, a subsidiary of Insurance Specialty Group, LLC. In conjunction with the transaction a team from PWIB, led by Jim Sce and Hoppy Stauffer, is joining Worldwide.
