As a candidate we all know how stressful, intimidating and nerve wrecking an interview can be. I think this is because we are never fully ready for an interview, we don’t know what to expect or what the outcome will be.

But what if I told you that you have the power to determine the outcome of your interview?

In last week’s blog I discussed how the job market has shifted from a recruiters-market to a candidates-market. This also applies to job interviews, not just the job search.

Don’t you want to be in control of your interview? The good news is that you can be and here is how;

According to an article I read about interviewing techniques and tips there are eight techniques you can use and practice for your interview:
  1. Interview for as much as you can
  2. Develop a compelling story
  3. Tailor your story to the job
  4. Manage stress
  5. Be prepared
  6. Anticipate likely questions
  7. Ask questions during the interview
  8. Boost your EQ
After getting feedback from employers here are four things you can do that will land you the job 99.9% of the time:
  1. Know yourself
  2. Know your skills
  3. Sell yourself
  4. Sell your skills
Confidence is key!

Even if you think you are not fully qualified for the position, it doesn't hurt to apply and test out your interview strategy.
