In his breakthrough book, The Fifth Discipline, Peter Senge stresses the importance of creating “learning organizations” that share their “best practices.” Chances are some of your employees or work groups perform better than others — but no one has asked them to describe their “best practices.” For example, your top salesperson might do things intuitively.
