One innovative CEO took a unique approach to hiring: requiring all applicants to send a joke along with their resume. Those who didn’t submit one were eliminated for not being able to follow instructions.

The CEO felt that a sense of humor was invaluable in today’s high-pressure workplace. He also figured that if he had to go through the drudgery of reviewing resume after resume, at least he’d have something to laugh about along the way. 

This offers a classic example of creating ways to have fun while doing serious work.
