The Jordan Insurance Group, MD, Grits and GlamourThe Grits & Glamour Gala is an event that will be happening on May 31, 2014 at the Horowitz Center at Howard Community College. It is being presented as a part of the Columbia Festival of the Arts and has been dubbed "a southern soiree." Once you see everything that the Grits & Glamour Gala has to offer, you'll definitely want to clear your schedule to help make sure that you can attend and get in on all of the fun. One of the goals of the Grits & Glamour Gala has to do with creating an elegant southern experience where both culture and arts can come together to form a unique presentation with "a heaping helping of good, old-fashioned southern hospitality." One of the biggest draws of the event is the ability to spend the evening with Nate Bargatze, who is a rising star around the world. Bargatze, a standup comedian, has been featured in a wide variety of different venues including on Jimmy Fallon's "Clean-Cut" comedy tour, the New York Comedy Festival and even on his own Comedy Central special. He has won prizes at a large number of different festivals and has appeared on multiple late night talk shows throughout his career. In keeping with the festival's origins, Nate Bargatze was born in the southern United States. In addition to a fine evening of the comedy styling of Nate Bargatze, attendees can also enjoy the Planter's Punch cocktail, a large number of appetizers and even a silent auction to help keep the event as interesting as possible. Other food includes southern inspired shrimp and grits and more. Tickets to the Grits & Glamour Gala are $150 per person, or $1500 per table. Reservations can be made by contacting the Columbia Festival of the Arts directly via the official website or by calling 410 - 715 - 3044. Black tie dress is optional, though it is certainly welcomed and recommended. The evening begins at 6:00 PM and is expected to last until around 10:00 PM.
