When it comes to having the right type of insurance, you need to make sure that you have accidental death and dismemberment.  Did you know that an accidental death takes place about every four minutes.  This makes this type of death the fifth most common type of death.  And while life insurance does provide benefits once the policyholder becomes deceased, accidental coverage provides extra benefits for deaths that are caused by accidents.  Best of all, to qualify for accidental insurance, there is no need to undergo any medical exams.  Plus, most preexisting medical conditions will not disqualify you from being able to buy a policy.

It's also with accidental death and dismemberment coverage that your spouse and children can be covered, too.  This means if one of your children or spouse were to become injured or killed during an accident, you will be provided coverage to pay for their funeral as well as additional benefits that can be spent as you wish.

There are many different types of coverage that you can have access to through an accidental death and dismemberment policy.  Some of the more common types of coverage include:

  • Return of remains
  • Loss due to disappearance
  • Loss due to coma
  • Felonious assault
  • Tuition reimbursement
  • Day care reimbursement
  • Critical periods payments benefit
  • Child loss

It is paramount that you don't assume you already have accidental death and dismemberment coverage through your regular life insurance plan.  While some policies do include these types of coverage automatically, there are many policies that don't.  To make sure you are properly covered with insurance, contact your local insurance agent today.
