They found that more than 100,000 foster children in US are available for adoption and that the number of Americans adopting from foster care, as opposed to international or private adoption, has increased since 2007.This study also showed a positive upswing in the view of the foster care system by the public. The Dave Thomas Foundation believes that every child is adoptable and deserves to grow up in a safe, loving, and permanent family. These findings reinforce the need for an increase in services provided by Foster care agencies, families and adopting families.
