Property & Casualty  State-by-State Requirements for Personal Lines Insurance Products

Hi all,

I've been researching minimum coverage requirements in different states (for products such as personal auto and homeowners insurance), and a lot of the time the government sites are lacking information,  and other online information from insurance companies or law firms is inaccurate, or has conflicting information.

Does anybody know if there is some sort of resource out there that could help me in this endeavor? It is incredibly difficult getting the "full picture" about a brand new state, simply by looking at the state insurance department or on the web.  I'm willing to buy some sort of almanac or similar resource that has this type of information, but I've yet to find anything like this.

Any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.   I hope someone can point me in the right direction.  Thanks in advance!

If you think there is a minimum set by the government for home insurance, that might be part of your problem.

I know homeowners insurance is not mandated by the government (not in any states I've researched yet anyway), however some states require a mandatory windstorm/hurricane deductible, or other specific requirements. This is the type of information I am trying to find.

Hi Taylor,

Thank you for using CompleteMarkets!

Based on the information you provided, I may have found a company that can answer your questions and provide you with more information. Program Brokerage Corporation has a Wind and Hail Deductible Buy Down program that is available in all 50 states.

Typically you would fill out a short submission form and they would help you write the account but if you are just looking for information they can still help you.

Click Here to view more information about their program or you can email Gary Shapiro by clicking here and you can ask him.

I hope this helps, please let me know if you have any questions.
