Ask Your Peers  Framing Contractors Liability (Closed)

Hi Everyone,

I'm currently working with a prospect who is a framing contractor, we are looking for a market that would cover his business. He doesn't need coverage for the other workers they carry their own insurance, my prospect is more interested in liability for the business. He has had his business for 6 years, he is licensed and there hasn't been any claims or accidents. His current carrier is increasing their rates so he is looking to see what other rates are available.

Any references will be greatly appreciated!

Hi Marisa,
I can offer you a PEO solution if they are in need of Workers' Comp.  SouthEast offers Comp and Payroll Service on a "Pay as you go basis", No contract.  No end of year audits or renewals.  A-Rated Carrier.

Our Coverage MAP is attached.  Min premium for CA is 40k.  This may be a little high for this company but if you have other risks that are "Hard to Place" that is what we specialize in-

Construction Industry, High Mod, High-risk, Staffing, Trucking, New in business, and Companies of all sizes, 1 or more employees.

Plus you will find that offering our PEO option typically produces greater commissions than selling stand alone policies!  Would you be interested in talking with me about a referral relationship?

Suggest you check with Tony at Commodore Insurance Services. It's been awhile since I've done a deal with them but they have a program that will accept framing contractors working on new homes. Tony can be reached at 510-899-6504. Hope this helps.

Check with BTIS, they have an excellent GL product for contractors. I would also take a look at Rockingham through Altas General and Colony, Atain Specialty, and Evanston through Burns & Wilcox.

Good Luck!

Hi Marisa,

In addition to BTIS, American Team Managers also has a great Guardian Program that can help you place this risk. They are a program administrator, work with A rated carriers and have 15% commissions.

They require 3 years of experience in the trade to be covered. I suggest that you fill out a short submission form and send it over to them. Please attach any additional information you have; applications, accords etc.

Please click here to send in a submission to American Team Managers.

If you have questions or need help please let me know.
