potential client cleans restaurant hoods and vents. Need GL only. Quotes I've received seem way out of line. Located in MT but does multistate work.thanks

I had one of these for several years, always E & S and GL in the $5000 range. He ended up with Auto Owners after 3 years for less and an admitted carrier.

No they are just very pricy, I have one client in that field and his premium is about 5-6 k a year for a one man shop and his work comp is almost 12 k a year so that class is rated high.

We have a small hood and duct cleaning company with just 2 employees based in Nebraska. Auto Owners would do the Inland Marine, but not the GL or Umbrella for us. If someone has one on the books with Auto Owners taking the GL, I would like to get some additional details. We used the broker International Excess Alliance (Kathy Thurber 800-937-3497 x2087) to access United Specialty for the $1,000,000 GL and Torus Specialty for the $1,000,00 X/S. Combined premium was just under $5,000. We are still looking for a better deal, so if anyone finds one please let us know.

Our insured found it ironic that most insurance companies who freely write restaurants will require a 6 month cleaning contract but none of them are wiling to provide the coverage for the cleaning service
