Ask Your Peers  Elderly Adult Sitting (Closed)

My client owns an elderly adult service, basically her employees go to the home of the patient and they visit with them for the day and help them with small tasks such as; light cleaning and cleaning. The employees do not provide any type of medical help with prescriptions, they do not drive them anywhere, home healthcare services are not provided. My client has 2 employees and need workers compensation and liability. Can anyone who has a market help me with this?

Maria:

Depending upon the state and client loss runs or affidavit, we have a couple of PEOs that write these types of accounts. Let me know. Thanks.

Maria,
I work with home care agencies of all different levels in over 40 States. It sounds to me like your client has a companion care agency (non-medical/non-touch) which is quite common in NY because of the 6 to 7 year wait for a Home Health Agency license.
There is only one class code for home care employees in almost every State so the rate is going to be the same whether they are doing medical or non-medical home care.
Unless they can provide loss runs going back at least 2 years and more likely 3, you are likely going to have to go to NYSIF for this.
If you have any other questions or comments, please feel free to email me at [email protected].

We would do the GL & professional together (professional is a throw in on this class). Might be able to do the WC too. E-mail me for an application [email protected]

Hi Maria,

Thank you for suing CompleteMarkets!

It looks like the community has provided some great suggestions, I would also like to add another company that has a Healthcare Practice program that can help you with the coverage you need for your client.
