Looking for a competitive market for a 300k+ boat for an insured with no prior boat ownership, already received a quote for Geico for over 9k.

So there are lots of options: Travelers, Progressive, Markel, Safeco, etc. It's just a matter of going to them and what guidelines that they have for hurricanes and what not at this time. I haven't done yacht insurance in a few years, but that quote seems high. Big thing is get your insured into some classes for boat safety, which can help tremendously on pricing.
