Ask Your Peers  Property coverage for company in receivership

A client who's never carried property coverage is now in liquidation.
The court receiver has asked if we could explore the possibility of coverage for the next 6-9 months (or longer) until the assets are liquidated.
Have never received a request like this so need help for any markets that might be able to insure the furniture, fixtures, and equipment during the liquidation process.
Thank you.

Hi Julia,

Thank you for using CompleteMarkets!

I went and did a market search and although I was having difficulty finding liquidation help, I did find 6 companies who all work with property coverage for homes, hard to place etc. I would suggest that you fill out the multi submit contact form, it is only one form and provide your information and in the comments explain what you are needing help with and these companies will get in touch with you.

Please click here to fill out the multi-submit contact form.

If you have any questions or if there is anything I can do to help please let me know.

Depends if you like doing work for free because this would almost certainly be a chargeback to your commission. Depending on the property types, commercial or homes you might be able to place them in pacific specialty but i'm not sure if it's worth the hassle. I had a home flipper who i dealt with for a few years and after a few year i realized i never made any money on them due the short amount of time they kept the policies. I told them that i can no longer accept business from them and to go look elsewhere. It was too much work for nothing, certs and evidence of insurance every other day for refi after refi for the same properties. Mostly likely you're going to be in this scenario.

We have a market who will do these. Just need ACORD apps, no known loss statement and details on the receivership/liquidation. e-mail me at [email protected]
