Hi, we have a client that has moved into our town from another town in North Carolina. They are currently staying with family and cannot keep all of their Personal Items/Furniture etc at that place. He has leased a Building for his HVAC Office and Storage and is currently operating out of that space. At the present time until they purchase a house they are storing this Personal Property inside the HVAC office/building. The building is located in North Carolina (NON-COASTAL) and he need $100,000 of contents coverage. I am having trouble finding a market to write the Contents since they are Personal Property not Business Personal Property.

Could you write a tenants policy for that location to cover the property?

I would write a tenants policy at the bro's house that would also cover contents away from premises.

Good Afternoon Jonathan,
I hope your day is going well. I have researched for the risk, Personal Property in Storage, you are trying to place and I have come up with two Agencies that could help you.

You can click on each name to connect to their Storefront or you can click here to get a quote from both.
I hope this helps you in your search.

I agree with TeEvans. A tenant's policy is the way to go here. Just check the policy form before binding, to ensure that the PP coverage will extend for the timeframe your client needs. I had a Chubb client that had to move property into a storage unit, temporarily, and the coverage extended. My PL partner at the time advised that not all carriers offer that extension, so best to check the form.
