Business owners have so much on their plate already, why does insurance have to add to their stress? Commercial insurance can cover businesses against property damage, loss, potential legal claims, company vehicles, workers compensation, loss of cash flow, etc. etc. etc.... A skilled insurance agent can provide the direction a business owner needs to ensure their company is protected fully. This is so important because many business owners know how to run a business, but they have no clue about the types of coverage they need and what is available to them.

What about cyber attack insurance? Technology is steadily increasing the presence on the internet which makes companies gravitate towards globalization, but what happens if they get hacked and all of their customer data is taken? Lawsuits!!

What about companies that have contracts where "loser pays"? There is Contract Litigation Insurance!

What insurance coverages are you aware of that are not yet as prevalent as others like commercial liability?

Product recall, especially for smaller manufacturers and retailers. I work with a number of small food manufacturers, and while some insurers are providing some basic recall coverage, the stand alone policies I've looked into have pretty high minimum premiums and are clearly intended for large operations.

Interesting, Thanks Scott! I did a quick search for a "Product Recall" market using the Find It -Markets/Products/Services. It came up with 2 different wholesalers that do product recall. Although Alexander J. Wayne doesn't specify their premium minimums they stated they help a lot of hard to place product recall markets.  The other one I came across was Professional Liability Insurance Services, Inc. and they did specify a lot about their policy highlights. One of which was a "no minimum premium". I hope one of these companies can help place some of the markets you need!!

I see that the coverage reimburses the insured for covered costs. For a small business, fronting the costs could very well be fatal. I'll check with PLIS to get a better idea of what they're offering.
