Hi Everyone,

I'm in the renewal cycle for an insured and am having zero luck with the property. Great account with no losses,non-renewal from Markel for the property (due to recent fires). All other lines will be renewed, but I'm curious if anyone knows any property markets I should consider approaching. Thus far I've approached 20+ markets and no one will write the property due to it's location.

Thank you,

-Chase

Hi Chase:

CA Fair Plan may be your only option for the property.

Fact of life...that's how it is now here in sunny California; especially in places like Big Bear, Lake Arrowhead, Tahoe (where I am). All over the state for that matter. I'm pretty sure that CA Fair Plan will write commercial locations in addition to residential.

Hope that helps.

Best....

CFP for the Fire Coverage... USLI for Liability.... CGI for Specific Personal Property, but I am not sure if the fact that this may be a commercial policy and how much difference that might make.

Have you tried Griffin Underwriters? Im in Oregon, not CA, but they seem to be able to place all my hard clients. I'm not sure who all the carriers they write though are. They even cover my loggers, and after Paradise, the whole West Coast seems to be on the black list for logging coverage. www.go-gus.com

Hi Chase! I may have solution for you. Please send me your ACORD 125, 140, and Statement of Values with COPE information on excel spreadsheet to [email protected]. Plot maps showing distances of separation would be extremely helpful. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me. Thanks!
