My client works for an alarm company and they are now requiring him to carry his own insurance. Due to cutbacks with the company he will be an independent employee and need to have coverage for liability and workers compensation. He will only install the alarm equipment on residential homes, this alarm company doesn't work with commercial. I need help writing this type of policy, any suggestions on companies?

Dimetri,

RLI has an alarm company program that I can access.

Send Acords to the following email and I will send a supplemental to be completed.

Penn America has great rates for alarm install. You could also check with Hiscox, BTIS, and Western Heritage.

Should be a really easy policy to place since your client is only doing residential.

Try Philadelphia. If they don't want it, try Brownyard Group.

Why not just amend the current coverage to cover independent contractor? Not seeing how adding around $2,000 in additional expenses to the installer is going to make it cost effective for that installer....
