Ask Your Peers  Moped Rental Insurance/Texas

I have a neat one. It’s rather small right now so minimum premium may be the issue. In short, they purchase cheap Mopeds and rent them out on a semester basis to college students. These are “long-term” rentals and the customer is required to put the vehicles on their personal insurance policy and name the insured as loss payee. Right now they have 8 units and are only located in Texas (College Station to be exact). Who has an idea or market for this one?

A co-worker suggested Prime or Heather Nelson at Ashley General Agency.

Hi Adam,

Thank you for using CompleteMarkets!

I apologize for the late response, however I have been discussing with companies to see if they can help you with this. I may have found a company but they asked a few questions:

1. What is the total value of all the mopeds?
2. Would the mopeds have street legal plates?
3. Are the drivers required to carry a license?

The company expressed to me that it is important they are street legal, which they assumed they would be is there is  a rental agreement.

Please get in touch with me at your earliest convenience, my email is [email protected]
