Ask Your Peers  AirBnB-Bed and Breakfast-VA (Closed)

I have a client who owns a rental home that wants to start Hosting with AirBnB. Basically you put your property on a website and people can pay a discounted rate to stay in your house. She currently has a Dwelling Fire Policy and they won't cover it. Has anyone ever heard of this or dealt with with clients who do this? I would think it needs to be switched to a bed & breakfast type policy but it's only going to be maybe 6 weekends out of a year. I would appreciate thoughts from anyone who has dealt with this. Thanks so much!!

Check your homeowners insurance carriers. Some of them have provisions for B&B exposures within certain parameters that don't carry as much risk as a traditional B&B. We are writing Air B&Bs through Auto-Owners Insurance.

It is my understanding the AIRBNB service provides coverage in the Fees charged to renter.........RRR
