Ask Your Peers  Need a market for course of construction that includes liability insurance (Closed)

Looking for a market that will write general liability and course of construction (hopefully in one policy) for a business in Oregon that buys residential homes for flipping and renovation and then resells. I'm pretty sure that the insured does NOT have a contractors license. I know I can buy monoline course of construction coverage but I recently I heard about a product that includes the course of construction and the GL all-in-one package. I seem to have lost the email about this program. Any ideas? Thank you for your help with this.

Thanks,

Larry, I've said this for years here in Ca. IMO it is an opportunity missed by carriers, wholesalers etc to sell a policy with both. The closest we can get is writing the COC separate and keeping a liability policy in force year round for the various projects the guy will do. Add and delete as properties are bought and sold.

Don't forget to remind the client that the GL (if he is the bldr/remodeler) probably won't include prods and comp opns unless the policy is designed for it as it is for a contractor.

I have no markets that I know will do what you're asking about.

Thanks, Dave S. San Jose

Yep. Shoot me an email and we will set you up. we're an MGA with the pen for 20 carriers. This one quotes fast and easy for CofC and Builders Risk. Adds GL at the click of a button. If you send an email put signature block at bottom so you can get set up on the platform (and so we can pay you or send you a 1099)

We use Tapco which has an online rater and binding by email. Service has been great for 20 years.

Hi Shawna. Thanks for speaking with me this morning and for your suggestions on how to get this post on the forum. I'm good for now. I am researching some of the MGAs that the others suggested. Great forum! Very helpful. Thank you again.

By course of construction are you referring to builders risk? I can get you a paper contractor's gl policy and categorize the builder as an executive supervisor and use the payroll for subs when determining the rate. It will cover premise ops / prod comp ops. Let me know if I can help.
