Professional Employer Organizations

Key Risk Groups:

Companies operating in the alternative staffing industry, including Professional Employer Organizations (PEOs), Administrative Services Organizations (ASOs), and temporary staffing firms—provided they operate as a full PEO or ASO—are eligible for this program. AI Risk focuses on established businesses with a strong operational history, but may also consider start-ups if the principals have at least five years of industry experience.

Coverage:

AI Risk offers comprehensive liability coverage specifically designed to address the unique exposures faced by PEOs and similar staffing entities. The program includes:
  • General Liability (occurrence form), which includes:
    • Bodily injury and property damage coverage for incidents occurring on the insured's premises or while employees are working at client locations.
    • Coverage for property damage while in the care, custody, or control of an employee.
    • Protection for acquisitions and business changes.
  • Professional Liability (claims-made form), featuring:
    • Multiple aggregate limit options.
    • Alternative Staffing Errors & Omissions (E&O) coverage.
    • Employee Benefits Fiduciary Liability availability.
Optional Coverage:

Add-on options include Employee Benefits Fiduciary Liability, Modified Bodily Injury and Property Damage, and Defense Expenses outside the limit of liability. Additionally, Miscellaneous E&O coverage is available for broader protection. These enhancements may extend to both the staffing firm and its client company in the event of a claim.

Minimum Premium:

$7,500 (combined General and Professional Liability).

Ideal Accounts and Appetite

This program is ideal for agents working with established or experienced PEOs, ASOs, and temp staffing firms that manage complex employment-related risks. Companies providing outsourced HR services, payroll administration, employee benefits, and risk management to client businesses are strong candidates. Start-ups may be eligible, but only if the principals have a minimum of five years’ experience in the PEO industry. Firms must operate as full-service PEOs or ASOs to qualify. You may find this program a great fit for clients such as:
  • A regional PEO with multiple client industries including healthcare, manufacturing, and professional services.
  • An ASO managing payroll and benefits for 100+ small businesses across multiple states.
