Consulting Foresters
Consulting Forestry Program - A master policy program providing General Liability and Foresters Professional Liability to forestry consultants. Forestry consultants are university-educated professionals providing a variety of services to public and private landowners. Most are members of the Association of Consulting Foresters (ACF). Guidelines:
  1. Consulting Foresters must have a forestry degree
  2. Membership in the ACF is required for preferred pricing
  3. Certificates will be obtained from Independent Contractors
  4. Superior loss ratio is required
Eligible Risks:
  • Timber Cruising
  • Timber Inventory
  • Boundary Lines
  • Forest Management Plans
  • Growth Studies
  • Wildlife Management
  • Reforestation
  • Property Inspections
  • Controlled or Prescribed Burning
  • Pesticide and Herbicide Application
  • Surveying
Ineligible Risks:
  • Any risk registered as strictly as a surveying firm
  • Any “urban forester” doing any type of tree trimming in the city
  • Any risk conducting logging activities
  • Hazardous Waste Studies
  • Real estate transactions are excluded – real estate transactions will require a separate real estate errors & omissions policy not available through the program.
  • Any risk engaging in excessive numbers of controlled burns (underwriter discretion).
Endorsements Included:
  • Hired/Non-Owned Auto
  • Watercraft Endorsement
Forestry Restrictions:
  • No excess or umbrella is available.
  • GL/E&O and IM program only – no other lines of coverage are available.
