Looking for a market that will insure drivers involved with Ridesharing for Lyft (Like Uber, SideCar, etc).

Are they going to have limousine plates on the vehicle(s)?

No, standard passenger auto plates, although the insured may use limo plates if it's the only way to obtain coverage. That's how it's looking right now.

Most of the limousine insurance writers I deal with may take someone who is doing a portion of the work with one of these companies, but probably not 100%. You can try KF&B, they are in CA and I do write limos with them. They may not take new ventures there or anyone without 2-3 years of limo experience.

Personally we stay away from anyone that is just doing ride sharing. There are still some gaps in coverage that may come up in the event of an accident. I don't think those ridesharing companies have coverage in place for comp or coll of the driver's vehicle. Therefor if they are in an accident and at fault there may be no coverage in place when the vehicle is in the "for hire" mode.

Ask for Shannon Melamed.

Shannon informed me that the Limo programs they have will allow for Ridesharing if it's a "Black" Luxury vehicle including SUV's. No standard passenger autos like the Chevy Malibu my client drives are acceptable.
