Hello Fellow Insurance Professionals!

Is it safe to replace a standard commercial property policy with the warehouse coverage endorsement available in the Open Cargo Policy?

I just did that same thing for one of my clients. The coverage differs, but economically it made sense for them. The OCP included flood and earthquake as covered perils.

Thank you Katrina! I should emphasize that the warehouse endorsement states " THIS POLICY IS HEREBY EXTENDED TO COVER GOODS...WHILE TEMPORARILY DETAINED IN WAREHOUSES APPROVED BY ASSURERS..." so the question really boils down to how one defines "TEMPORARILY DETAINED" and if that is a suitable replacement to a commercial property policy
