I have a night club that had a fire. Current carrier is paying claim but cancelling policy. Damage is primarily to interior walls and contents. Refurbishing will not involve any structural work. Some wiring will be reworked. The current policy provides property and GL. Having trouble finding another company to write the BR and GL. I have sent this to several E&S brokers. Has anyone been thru this and gotten a company to write a BR and or a GL. I am located in Texas.

I might suggest suggest getting your builders risk policy separate from the GL. It's rare to find a carrier that will write both in one package.

HI I do agree with Larry about seeking a separate Provider for the Builder's Risk. I'm working a similar situation in GA, and Markel/Essex has offered a quote, with some subject items. In TX, I'm not sure how you will access that market.
Try Johnson and Johnson, Southern Insurance Underwriters, Midlands, Appalachian for starters.

In Nebraska I have used the following but I do not know their Texas or occupancy appetite

Auto Owners is rolling out a new Builders Risk product that also has a renovations element
