Kelly,
Depending on the class FirstComp is the way to go for contractors. I'd look to AmTrust for the restaurant.
Best wishes,

Regarding contractors - It depends on state, class of business, height exposure, # of employees, subcontract exposure, and gross payroll
Restaurants - CNA, Hartford, Summit, First Comp, Zenith, Normandy Harbor, Employers, Travelers, FCCI, etc. Depends on state

If you're in FL, FirstComp for both types of businesses, depending on the type of contractor, they can do a one man operation. And Summit (Bridgefield, BusinessFirst or RetailFirst) depending on the size & type of contractor & restaurant. If any delivery on the restaurant risk, you'll get a declination from both.

Happy hunting,
Sue

I am looking for a workers compensation market for a trucking operation. Class code is 7219. Located in CA. They operate in CA except for 2 months a year where they haul hay to Nevada. They haul heavy equipment. 50& of the operation is under 50 miles. 45% is 50-200 miles and 5% is 201-300 miles. The payroll is around $780,000 a year. They have been in a PEO since December 2011. They have had two claims in that period of time. They want to get out of the PEO. We need to find out if you know any carriers, other than State Fund, that would write this type of risk.

I really appreciate any assistance that anyone can give me.

Thank you,
Jennifer
