having trouble finding a carrier to quote a client with a less than perfect credit history on a contract bond. Would include bid and performance bonds.
Anybody have someone doesn't use credit so heavily in the bond process? We are in MT and would be multistate.

Having subpar credit, your client might have to come up with collateral to get the bond, especially if the bond is over $250K. And/or pay a high rate. Is this their first bond? Do they have audited financials or at least a P&L statement? A number of variables will determine the difficulty vs ease on this one. I use Lacey Beairsto with Surety Placement Services, Inc out of Arizona. They write nationwide and she is awesome. 866-430-3322 (www.suretyplace.com)
