A+ property and casualty insurance carrier is seeking a Product Development/Underwriting Specialist to serve as a point of contact/leader of a small team for product development for Property and/or Casualty lines of business and filing requests which leverage the existing general risk filings. Major areas of concentration include workers compensation, general liability and commercial auto. Provides line of business and state expertise related to the shared platform product suite including ISO, NCCI and the general risk filings. Working closely with the companies, reviews, prepares and implements new product filings eligible for the shared platform. Responsible for assisting companies and working with actuarial to craft form and rate information needed to use in these filing. Coordinates new and existing product/filing changes with systems, corporate actuarial and the entities. Assist new entrants and existing entities in developing changes to the current rate, rule and form filings. Works with the entities to prioritize product and filing requests to leverage efficiencies. Responsible for scheduling periodic product line reviews and to provide appropriate communications to the companies. 5-10 years of product development and/or commercial underwriting with product development experience with a casualty/workers compensation niche. Extensive knowledge of coverage forms, endorsements, rules and rating procedures. Experience with Insurance Department regulatory processes. Proven ability to effectively interact and communicate with underwriting, marketing, compliance, claims, senior management and all other internal and external departments. Prior leadership experience desirable. Compensation 120k+ depending upon experience. College degree preferred. CPCU, CIC designations highly desirable.
