Who doesn’t like to hear about tax breaks? State employment officials say businesses across Oklahoma can expect a break when it comes to paying unemployment insurance in 2014. The Oklahoma Employment Security Commission announced that many businesses can expect to pay less because of record collections into the state’s Unemployment Insurance Trust Fund. The fund that is used to pay state unemployment benefits to qualified workers reached topped $1 billion earlier this month for the first time in 72 years. Agency economist Lynn Gray says because of improved conditions of the trust, the agency expects to see a “significant tax cut” for Oklahoma employers in 2014. While the overall condition of the economy will determine how large the cut will be, Gray says it could result in a decline of collections between $175 million and $225 million. Good afternoon...let's post this again as a "discussion". When I sit down with a small business owner, I typically ask these 12 questions as part of a survey that then allows me to offer their business a free listing for one year on our GoSmallbiz.com website. As you read these 12 questions ask yourself how many "yeses" would you expect from your commercial clients? Here we go... Have you ever 1. Had a dispute with a supplier, landlord, customer or employee? 2. Had difficulty collecting money from customers? 3. Signed a contract or document you hadn't fully read or understood? 4. Felt you paid too much in tax? 5. Had questions about incorporating and legally protecting your business? 6. Worried about being sued by customers, vendors or employees? 7. Wanted to market your business more effectively over the Internet? 8. Wanted to have a resource for any business or legal question? 9. Wanted to get advice on increasing your business revenue and profits? 10. Wished you could afford to have an experienced attorney or business consultant/coach without having to worry about the fees involved? 11. Had to hire or fire an employee? 12. Wondered if you were compliant with federal and state regulations? I imagine that the majority of your clients would actually answer "yes" to many of these questions. You could offer them a great solution which would be one of our LegalShield small-business legal plans that start at just $49/month. I look forward to helping you as you help your clients and welcome further discussion.

I would sincerely appreciate your input based upon your experience with PEOs. If you have never formed an alliance with a PEO, why not? If you have utilized a PEO for your client(s), how was this experience? How did your client like this relationship? Let's explore the opportunities; the good, the bad and the ugly. Thanks for reviewing.

I have a home healthcare company here in AZ that is in need of comp coverage, no prior and I've contacted every market I can think of which leaves us with the assigned risk. That being said we'll be moving on a policy for the insured however he has a contractor in TX that he would also like to provide comp coverage for. Annual payroll for the TX contractor is $62,400 (8835 class code) and we can't add to the NCCI policy since TX isn't an option. Does anyone have any ideas as to where I could write this part of the comp business? Better yet if anyone knows where I could write it all together that would be great. Here's a breakdown of the payroll amounts: - 2 w2 home health nurses (8835) - $143,425/yr payroll (AZ) - 1 1099 contractor home health nurse (8835) - $91,800/yr payroll (AZ) - 2 Office employees (8810) - $54,720/yr payroll (AZ) - 1 1099 contractor home health nurse (8835) - $62,400/yr payroll (TX) - 3 owners all excluded at 8810 class code - $86,400/yr payroll each Any help is much appreciated. Thank you!
