I have an insured that has 6 vehicles and 3 losses that total $54k. I have been declined by all of the standard markets I have access to and am having trouble getting surplus companies to respond to my request to a quote. Any suggestions for a market?

Hello Peers We currently write a High Value Homeowner in TX with Chubb. They are undergoing a 120 day renovation project, the contract for which includes a mutual waiver of subrogation clause. Chubb requested the contract when we asked for improvements to be added to the policy, and now they want OFF the policy altogether, because of the WOS Clause. Contractor said that this standard verbiage in all their contracts and this is the first time this issue came up. Other Carriers will not accept the risk while renovation is going on. Any advise on how to handle this? Veronica Ventura

I have a 1 man home improvement contractor who will be doing framing, drywall, doors, windows, and siding. He did not indicate any roofs. He always subcontracts out the HVAC, plumbing, and electric. He confirmed that the subcontracting equates to about 60% of the work. I know I can go to the surplus market, but are there any standard markets that would write this? I have a few good artisan programs, but they cap out at 30-40% subcontracting.

I need a general liability market for an electrical contractor that specializes in newly constructed buildings. They have been in business for only five years and are looking to potentially bring in their BOP and umbrella into a bundle with one carrier as their current carrier will no longer write umbrella. Can anyone help me place this? Thanks in advance!

I have a guy who wants to buy lots, subcontract the grading, foundation, and utilities. He then buys a modular home from a factory and has it set on the foundation. Then he finishes the interior to his customers specifications. His experience is that he did this process when he built his own home a few years ago.
