Hi all! We are having a couple of issues with our personal lines markets in NY & NJ. 1. Monoline homes: Most carriers we write with will not write the Home without the Auto. This is a bigger problem in NJ than in NY, but still a hurdle we need to overcome in both states when we have to compete against Geico's auto pricing. Who are you all placing your monoline homes with? 2. High Valued Homes: Most of our carriers will not write a home with a dwelling limit higher than $1.2M and most high value home carriers want homes starting around $2M. Chubb can write the homes in between, however their pricing is much higher than the direct writers we come up against. Where are you all placing these homes? 3. Marketing: What type of marketing do you all do? We have a great website and Facebook page, however we do not see a lot of new business come our way via these channels. Have you had success with local commercials, mailings, diner placemat advertising, etc.? I look forward to reading all of your comments.

Does anyone know of a market that will write a Fire policy for a damaged secondary home? I have a home that will be knocked down and rebuilt, however I need a Fire policy to cover the existing structure until the insured is ready to take that step (in about 6 months). This would be in NJ down the shore. It was damaged suring Hurricane Sandy and is not inhabitable. Thanks!
