Looking for all lines coverage for security guard firm that provides services for bars and nightclubs in PA. 70% of business is basic grounds security services for commercial properties, but has a bar contract for door/bouncer services( non armed) and does the occasional unarmed door service for restaurants/bars for special events( ie pay per view boxing/UFC fights). Also does a very small amount of armored service for small local festivals and fairs (alongside money holders) and small event bodyguard for low profile individuals.

We have an account in Nebraska that has two parts and/or entities. The first part primarily transports clients of Health & Human Services in NE, typically within a 200 mile or less radius but they can go into neighboring states. HHS has also requested they take or retrieve clients that are much further away even to CA and once to Alaska. Not the norm but at least once a month they will travel beyond the 200 mile radius for HHS. The second part of their business provides secured transports for HHS and for law enforcement. Many times HHS clients are violent or due to physical or mental issues need to be in a more controlled element for transfer. Likewise local law enforcement will rely on our insured for transporting their charges. In this part they will travel out of state more often but still not on a regular and frequent basis. This represents less than 10% of their runs. We have access to the BHHC companies and to the Atlas Financial Group companies. Who are the current markets that will look at both HHS and secured transport together? Who are the markets for secured transport only

Remember the days of paper files and 90 page policies? Technology may have saved our backs from stooping & bending and even prevented those irritating paper cuts, but has it solved the problem of getting that 90 page policy from your desk to your client? “Email it!” you say? That’s not a bad idea. But is it the best one? Convenience says yes, security says maybe and server limitations say - not so quick! As a broker, many times I would receive a call from an underwriter asking if I knew why my email told his email that a file could not be received by my server. My answer – “Wha?” When relying on email alone, situations like this can be problematic. With paper mail becoming less and less desirable and logistically more cumbersome, one solution may be having multiple solutions. What is your agency doing to ensure the successful retrieval of your insurances documents? How do you get those documents out to your clients? As we look into different methods of delivery, consideration of our brokers needs and wants is first and foremost! Your thoughts and ideas are greatly appreciated.

Who doesn’t like to hear about tax breaks? State employment officials say businesses across Oklahoma can expect a break when it comes to paying unemployment insurance in 2014. The Oklahoma Employment Security Commission announced that many businesses can expect to pay less because of record collections into the state’s Unemployment Insurance Trust Fund. The fund that is used to pay state unemployment benefits to qualified workers reached topped $1 billion earlier this month for the first time in 72 years. Agency economist Lynn Gray says because of improved conditions of the trust, the agency expects to see a “significant tax cut” for Oklahoma employers in 2014. While the overall condition of the economy will determine how large the cut will be, Gray says it could result in a decline of collections between $175 million and $225 million.
