I would sincerely appreciate your input based upon your experience with PEOs. If you have never formed an alliance with a PEO, why not? If you have utilized a PEO for your client(s), how was this experience? How did your client like this relationship? Let's explore the opportunities; the good, the bad and the ugly. Thanks for reviewing.

Hi All, I'm coming to you in hopes of gaining some insights into the CIC and CPCU designations, and if there are any online options for earning these credentials (and if there aren't online options, how have others gone about pursuing these?). I have been working in the P & C insurance industry for a few years, and want to expand my horizons and knowledge. I also would welcome any personal experiences you have about either of these credentials, and ways to become more effective in the Property & Casualty arena. Thanks in advance for your reply - very much appreciated!

Hi all! We are having a couple of issues with our personal lines markets in NY & NJ. 1. Monoline homes: Most carriers we write with will not write the Home without the Auto. This is a bigger problem in NJ than in NY, but still a hurdle we need to overcome in both states when we have to compete against Geico's auto pricing. Who are you all placing your monoline homes with? 2. High Valued Homes: Most of our carriers will not write a home with a dwelling limit higher than $1.2M and most high value home carriers want homes starting around $2M. Chubb can write the homes in between, however their pricing is much higher than the direct writers we come up against. Where are you all placing these homes? 3. Marketing: What type of marketing do you all do? We have a great website and Facebook page, however we do not see a lot of new business come our way via these channels. Have you had success with local commercials, mailings, diner placemat advertising, etc.? I look forward to reading all of your comments.

This is a question that many people ask on a daily basis… Settlements between state regulators and the insurance industry are calling into question whether life insurers are doing enough to make sure they pay unclaimed death benefits and whether they follow the “best practice” doctrines corporations so often preach. Wrapping up a lengthy investigation into unclaimed benefits, Benjamin M. Lawsky, superintendent of the New York State Department of Financial Services (DFS), said that insurers should have used more up-to-date databases to cross-check life insurance policies, annuity contracts and retained asset accounts with insurers’ internal files. “Best practices should have required that insurers utilizing the Social Security Administration Death Master File or a database that is at least as comprehensive, to determine if any death benefit payments were due a as a result of unreported claims,” Lawsky said in a letter.
