A 17-year veteran of The Word & Brown Companies, Jarrod Word was promoted to Senior Vice President in September 2013. In his leadership role in the Word & Brown Individual Division, Jarrod leads the division’s sales, marketing, product/market strategy, distribution, and support functions for individual health and Medicare producers across the country.
Jarrod began his career at The Word & Brown Companies in 1996, working in Quote Maintenance for CaliforniaChoice, the Small Group Private Exchange. He has also served in the Underwriting, Customer Service, and Sales departments at CHOICE Administrators®, the nation’s leading developer and administrator of employee-choice health insurance exchange models.
In 2002, Jarrod became a broker at Omega Insurance Services followed by two years at the Word & Brown General Agency as an outside field sales representative. In 2005 he was then named Vice President of Strategic Alliance and Preferred Partner Distribution at CONEXIS, the employee benefits administration company.
In 2008 Jarrod moved to HealthCompare Insurance Services, where he served as Vice President of Broker Distribution for the online and call center health insurance division.
He was one of the founding executives in the Word & Brown Individual Division, when that operation was established by the Word & Brown General Agency in 2012.
