I have a prospect that I have done numerous 1 day event policies in the past. They have access to a facility to hold events and fundraisers. The food will be provided by food trucks. They will also need building coverage as that is part of the agreement. Does anyone have advice for a standard market to cover this risk and what might the class be? I know it might be similar to a restaurant, but there is not the cooking exposure.

If they do events and fundraisers, are they a non-profit organization, or are they an event-organizer? Those are the classes you'd need to use. Philadelphia Insurance Company can write coverage for either class, but other companies will write the non-profit class and include some events in the coverage (as long as there are no other adverse exposures). The food trucks would need to be noted as sub-contracted "catering", and provide their own COIs to your insured. I would add the facility as an insured location, and include building coverage. It sounds like a triple-net lease situation. I guess the only question would be if that lease is a per-day agreement, or if it is a longer term. If it's longer term that I don't think there is an issue. If it's a per-day agreement, then the building coverage may be difficult.

Hi Jeffrey,

Thank you for using CompleteMarkets!

Based on the information you provided I did a market search and was able to find four companies that we work with that that have markets for special events insurance, one of the companies has four different markets that they could place this risk with, I suggest that you fill out a short multi-submit contact form, you will only need to fill this out once and your request will be sent to all the companies.

Please Click Here to fill out a short submission form and be sure to include any apps/accords you have that will help the Underwriters process your quote faster.

Do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions you have!
