I'm getting involved with Bitcoins, and i'm seeing a large need to insurance. People need to be able to insure their private wallets against theft, and exchanges need to be able to insure their deposits to prevent another Mt Gox disaster.

I have heard the Lloyds is doing some btc insuring in Europe, but i haven't seen anything here in the states.

Does anyone know of any carriers that are interested in starting a program?

Check out this article on Bitcoin insurance under standard insurance policies. So far there is not any case law affirming coverage but carriers have yet to add cryptocurrency exclusions to the areas where current polices should pick it up.
