I have an A/V Rental client that needs an inland marine policy for his rental equipment while stored on premise and in transit. He also occasionally sub-rents equipment from another A/V rental company when taking on larger jobs, the big road block we're running into is the company they're renting from is requiring coverage on our insureds policy for the rented equipment. Any idea on markets for this type of risk? To start we're looking for $25k in equipment coverage and will provide a schedule if needed for any gear over $1k.

Have you tried US Assure? They were Zurich until a couple of years ago and are out of FL. www.usassure.com Don't know if they will do it but it's worth a shot. Good luck! Kimberly

Auto-Owners will write monoline inland marine. You should be able to get hired/leased equipment just like contractors who rent construction equipment. If they won't do it because of the type of equipment and you have to go surplus lines, try www.statewide-insurance.com here locally. Have you tried the usual local MGA's?

Hi Everyone,

Thank you for all the suggestions, I will reach out to these markets and see what we can find. We did receive a quote from Markel however they seem incredibly expensive for the amount of coverage offered, guess we'll find out.
