Ask Your Peers  Trucking Worker's Compensation South Florida 

Good Afternoon. We have several owner operators doing local trucking (box trucks) under exclusive contracts with Sears, Lowes, HHGregg etc. They are basically tied to a particular store so they only do deliveries from that store to around a 50 mile radius (South Florida area only). Some guys have only 1 truck and some have up to 5 trucks working. Some have no prior and some are under PEO coverage now. Need help placing them for worker's compensation (not a PEO) if possible. Does anyone have or know any markets that would consider?

Julian, did you have any luck finding a carrier? I had a risk like this with some pretty heavy requirements some time ago. I was unable to find them coverage.

Jeffrey, I have not been able to find a carrier for them yet. There was one we found but they have a $10K MP so that takes them out of range for the smaller guys. We're still looking around.

FWCJUA may be your only option, it will be a dragged out process, two weeks on average but it will be done.
