SPRINGFIELD, Ill., Aug. 8 (UPI) -- A former Illinois workers' compensation arbitrator's $25,233 worker's compensation payment is being challenged in court by state officials. The Illinois attorney general's office is seeking to reverse the tax-free cash settlement paid to Jennifer Carril, who filed for a disability settlement in 2010 for injuries she said resulted from typing on her computer, the Belleville (Ill.) News-Democrat reported Wednesday. Carril, whose claim was backed up by a doctor who said she suffered from carpal tunnel syndrome, resigned from her job as a workers' compensation arbitrator in July 2011. Maura Possley, spokeswoman for Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan, said the office filed its legal challenge June 18. "We are asking the court to review and reverse the decision," Possley said.
