Looking for a market that can help with an AZ manufactured risk. What's making this difficult is the client's had two water losses and one other loss in the last 3yrs so my typical markets such as American Summit, American Modern, & Aegis won't touch it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration has cited Piping Technology and Products Inc. in Houston for four repeat and three serious violations after a worker was injured in June from being struck by a broken die piece on a mechanical press. The repeat violations were cited for failing to guard punch presses and band saws, provide lockout/tagout training regarding energized sources and conduct an annual review of lockout/tagout procedures. The serious violations were cited for a failing to secure a fuel gas cylinder, use undamaged slings for lifting and moving equipment and provide strain relief for electrical wiring. A repeat violation is when an employer has been previously cited for the same or a similar violation of a standard, regulation, rule or order at any other facility in federal enforcement states within the last five years. This particular company was previously cited for similar violations in 2011. A serious violation is when there is substantial probability that death or serious physical harm could result from a hazard about which the employer knew or should have known. Do you feel this company should have spent more time making sure their employees work environment was safe? For the whole story go Here

There's reassuring news for people who drive with kids in the car. Booster seat manufacturers are doing a better job of making sure kids are as safe as possible when they're buckled in. But the new safety ratings come with a word of caution. Experts at the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety say they're still finding instances where lap or shoulder belts are not in the safest position for some children. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety evaluated and rated new booster seats to see how well they position belts on 4 to 8 year olds. More than half of the manufacturers selling booster seats this year earned a top rating. Out of 31 new models tested, 19 are considered "Best Bets", meaning, the shoulder and lap belts fit correctly on a child - regardless of the car model."With a good booster, the lap belt should lie flat across the upper thighs, not riding up on the tummy," explained IIHS spokeswoman Jessica Jarmakian. "And the shoulder belt should fit snugly across the center of the shoulder. It's not sliding off the shoulder or riding up onto the neck." The institute, financed by insurance industry, started rating booster seats five years ago after research showed most booster seats were not consistently and correctly fitting kids. Experts say seat manufacturers still have a way to go before most booster seats on the market are considered excellent in terms of safety. For the 4th year, 2 booster seats were given "Not Recommended" status. The institutes says the Safety 1st All-in-One and Safety 1st Alpha Omega Elite, both made by Dorel Juvenile Group- lack the proper belt fit in both the shoulder and the lap. While manufacturers are doing a better job at getting it right- the latest tests find brand, price and style don't always equate with the proper fit you need to protect that precious cargo in the back seat. Have a new venture that at this point is only hiring independent contractors(1099'ers) as sales reps. Discovery, development, distribution and manufacture of a portfolio of innovative in vitro diagnostic rapid tests kits is the description on the website. On top of that these sales reps will be in multiple states, at least 7 for now and more down the road. The attorney for the client is saying they need to have WC on these ind contractors. I'm having a hard time, better yet no luck finding any company to will even consider this. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I should have said they will have employees, (w-2) down the road in the fall

I've been in the insurance industry nearly 12 years, and I've become the guy that gets the hard to place referrals. On a daily basis I work with businesses that generally do not fit with the standard market. Here are some examples of recent accounts: - FMX (motocross) jump shows - They show up to any event, weather it be a track, beach, or parking lot, and perform flips and tricks as an opening act to a main event. (still considering new markets for this as they require monthly special event policies). - Inventory/Contents companies - They require Inland Marine for contents of others, as well as GL/EPL/Pollution Liability/Work Comp. They own a warehouse where contents of others and BPP is stored. The majority of work performed is taking inventory at residential and business properties, and incidentally will remove undamaged PP for temporary storage. Sometimes the inventory is completed in locations with exposure to asbestos; which they are fully licensed and trained to do so while wearing proper gear. - Textile/Home Goods Sales - They have two warehouses; one for storage, one for packaging/shipping. All sales are to wholesale and public via the web. - Swim Instructors - Teaches children aged 3-18 to swim in public and school pools. Package required. - Commercial Production Companies - Requiring coverage for props/sets/wardrobe, GL, hired auto, work comp, all on short term basis. - High Ex Mod/Large premium Work Comp risks. - Several clients from Machine Shops, Body Shops, Warehouses, Janitorial, with 500k - 3mil payroll with either lapses in coverage, large recent claims, or high ex-mods. Needing a market for the Work Comp - NO PEO! These are just a few examples of accounts within the last 30 days. I currently work with too many GA's, most of which do not have a market for a few of these. I'd like to find someone to work with that is quick on response, follows up, has reasonable fees, and has a broad range of market access. Please only reply to this is you are serious about being able to help. Thanks in advance. Regards, John H Crawley [email protected]
