From single-family homes to large commercial structures and critical infrastructure, demolition contractors perform inherently high-risk work that requires specialized insurance solutions. Whether your client is clearing sites for new construction, removing hazardous materials, or assisting with disaster recovery, these operations create exposures many standard markets will not accept. Novatae Risk Group provides access to tailored Workers' Compensation for demolition contractors who are difficult to place in the standard market. Through our Non-Standard Worker Comp Insurance for Demolition Contractors program, Novatae combines flexible placement options, pragmatic underwriting, and proactive claims and loss-control support. We focus on accounts that fall outside traditional carrier appetites—offering practical, market-aware solutions built from decades of experience serving the construction trades. Ideal Accounts and Appetite Demolition contractors with high-risk operations, difficult class codes, or multi-trade exposures Accounts with Experience Mods (X-Mods) between 1.30 and 3.00 Producers needing alternatives for clients non-renewed or cancelled for loss history or exposure Businesses in state-assigned risk pools or declined by standard markets Insureds with no prior coverage, recent lapses, or adverse underwriting histories Operations with manual rates roughly in the $8–$50+ range and other complex risk profiles Example: You might have a demolition contractor recently dropped by a standard carrier after a surge in claims, or a new multi-state startup with no loss history. Those are the types of accounts Novatae underwrites through this program.
