There is an old adage, which has proven increasingly true, that ‘you are only as good as who you know.’

This adage actually pre-dates the Internet.

Most college career counselors and career building websites are quick to sing the praises of networking.  Increasingly though, Social and Professional Networking websites are replacing – or at least supplementing - the traditional networking venues: Golf Courses, Fraternity and Civic Organizations, and Professional Networking Events.

When you wish to communicate specifically with other Insurance professionals, your best option is a site that specializes in serving the Insurance community.  The advantages of networking in such a targeted community should be obvious.  These are your peers, competitors, and the service-providers for your industry.  By sharing what experience, knowledge, and advice you have to offer, you will attract those people and companies that best align with your ideologies.

Building your professional network on CompleteMarkets can reinforce your position as an expert in your industry.  And, unlike a “general” networking site, the content you peruse and conversations you engage in will be more pertinent to your professional interests.

Share how Social/professional networking has impacted your business.

Dave, I use Complete Markets when I have a tough class that needs to be entertained. I appreciate the help that I have received from your site. I have been doing this for over 23 yrs and after all those yrs I find it frustrating that the companies we represent and write for seem to be less efficient than most agencies staff. With all of their resources and cash flow - we as an agency are constantly challenging them to keep up with us. The Insurance industry needs to take selling a little more seriously and devise a plan to make it less frustrating to the agent to get a policy sold. Dealing with underwriters can seem like an endless waiting game, with most having less knowledge than my second year producer. Other industries in the sales arena make it a little less complicated when dealing with the consumer. Granted, Insurance is a little more complicated than most industries, but after 200 yrs you would think that our progress would be a bit more stellar. Just my two cents.
