Excess Flood Insurance

Available Limits
  • Up to $15,000,000 aggregate per property, including building, contents, and loss of income. Higher limits may be available upon request.
  • Up to $20,000,000 aggregate per building for residential and high-rise condominiums (building coverage only).
Underlying NFIP Insurance Requirements
Residential (1–4 family): $250,000  |  Commercial: $500,000
Residential Condos: $250,000 multiplied by number of units
Loss of income: $500,000 with either $50,000 or 30-day SIR
Contents and loss of income coverage must be bound with building coverage
Eligible Properties
  • Residential dwellings (1–4 family) and other residential properties such as apartments
  • Commercial properties and condominiums, subject to underwriting eligibility
Excluded Classes
  • Properties on Fire Island, NY; Chesterfield, MO; Florida Keys; and Padre Island, TX
  • Properties built on stilts over water, properties with negative elevation, contents located in a basement, and medical equipment
  • Foodstuffs and perishable goods of any kind
  • Manufactured homes
Special Requirements
  • Minimum and earned premium is the greater of 25% of the gross premium or $500 for residential and $1,000 for commercial accounts
  • Contents and loss of income coverage must be bound in conjunction with building coverage
  • An NFIP policy declarations page is preferred to accompany the excess flood application when available
