Looking for a market to write a Beekeepers Club (a 501(c)(3) organization), whose members go to homes and businesses to remove bee hives. Members are paid by the home or business owner directly. The club itself sees no revenue for this. Club members will also remove bee hives from city property and parks at the city's request, but they do not charge for this. They do it as a public service. The removed bees are brought to a bee sanctuary kept in space donated by the city. They're looking to cover the club as well as the 5 members who do the actual bee removal (aka Bee Rescue) for liability associated with the rescue should the bees sting neighbors, pets, etc.

Tonight Aug 31st two events are happening in relation to Earth's moon. Tonight is a rare "Blue Moon" (meaning that it is the 2nd full moon to happen in the span of one single month) and also the day that the late Neil Armstrong will be laid to rest. If you don't know, he was the first man to step foot on our moon. These two events are not happening because of each other but do have strong celestial ties to each other. You may be wondering what these two events have to do with Life Insurance? Well I was recently reading an article on this very topic. Back in 1969 when Armstrong and the rest of the Apollo 11 astronauts were preparing to fly to the moon they could not afford to get life insurance even though there was a very high probability that they would not survive the mission. The premiums at that time due to their dangerous line of work would have been $50,000 per year while his take home pay was only about $17,000 a year. Clearly that is a massive difference in numbers. So before the mission in a clever way to ensure that their loved ones would not be left without a source of income they did they only thing that they could. They autographed hundreds of envelopes with various space-related images on them, and then had a friend put them all in the mail so that they would be postmarked on the day of the mission. In this way if they were to all die during take-off their families could sell those autographed envelopes to help provide an influx of money in lieu of a life insurance policy. I think that this just goes to show that even in the most danger filled occupations there is always a way to provide for your loved ones when you die, even if it is not an actual life insurance policy.

Hello. I am looking for a carrier that would have an appetite for property & GL coverage for a retreat center that specializes in fitness & weight loss. Ever see the show "Biggest Losers". Well...this is kind of like that but the clients pay to come stay for a week or so where they go through a training. The way I see it, there are two components. One is to make sure that the property is properly insured. Second, need to make sure the owner of the business can get GL/PL coverage for her operations. The insured has been turned down by Markel & K&K already. Not sure what other markets to approach. Very interesting risk....kind of like a health club/hotel/retreat center. Challenging deal... Thanks for your thoughts on this one.
