I have a client who hauls taxidermy from taxidermist to owner. I got a quote for his cargo and it was astronomical. He keeps telling me that everyone else is paying so much less. I can't substatiate his claim. The people I have talked to just say that is how it is.

I'm wondering if anyone has ever helped any type of shipping company to sell the cargo insurance to the owner of the item being shipped. I've seen other shippers do it, but I have no idea where to even start looking.

I appreciate any input.

Thanks

Hi Brian:

I write a lot of cargo insurance for small household moving companies. Suggest that you speak to Stephanie Karafa at Bass Underwriters. She works in the FL office. Not sure if her carrier will write taxidermists but it's a shot. Here is Stephanie's contact info:

Someone asked about this last year in the forums. Did you do a search yet? Unsure what they found out.
