JOB DESCRIPTION: PRODUCER

OBJECTIVE:

Under the direction of the production manager, plan, lead, and control personal production levels and servicing so as to contribute to the agency production goals with respect to growth, mix of business, and profitability.

DUTIES:

1. Produce the forecast premium volume, commission, and accounts as agreed to in my individual business plan.

2. Keep abreast of marketing trends and techniques.

3. Keep abreast of companies for possible current and new programs niche marketing efforts.

4. Balance production to achieve proper mix of business with respect to lines of insurance and carriers, and proper balance of new and renewal accounts.

5. Promote products of carriers that agency plan has identified as important.

6. Follow up on leads for new business prospecting and renewal contacts to meet my individual production objectives.

7. Obtain and follow up on underwriting, rating, and other information necessary to submission and retention of business as requested by CSRs and companies.

8. Help collect premiums on my accounts when necessary.

9. Complete applications, inspections, and risk-management activities as requested and needed for prospects, existing accounts, etc.

10. Participate in training and seminars.

11. Perform other duties as assigned.

AUTHORITY:

1. Carrier contact as needed.

2. CSR/prospect contact as needed or required

3. Solicitation and binding of business within the authority granted to me by agency and insurance company

4. Collection of deposit and other premiums on behalf of agency.

PERFORMANCE-MEASUREMENT CRITERIA:

Criteria to measure my achievement of stated duties should include:

1. Timely completion and submission of required reports to my supervisor.

2. Adherence and compliance with stated procedures, service standards, personnel policies, and accounting practices.

3. Degree and quality of professional development.

4. Adherence to standards of performance for sales and service.

5. Smooth, efficient, and positive relationship between staff and companies.

6. Results of my sales efforts in meeting personal production commitments for new and renewal business.

7. Contribution to stated agency mix by line and carrier and objectives outlined in personal production plan.

8. Adherence to stated and established agency procedures and guidelines.

9. Control of receivables on my accounts to avoid exceeding stated agency aged receivable objectives.

10. Control of entertainment and travel expenses to comply with stated agency budget standards.
