CONVEY BAD NEWS POSITIVELY
There's nothing like being the bearer of bad new. Yet this letter shows how you can inform your clients of what's going on, to position yourself as the client's advocate.
The letter was designed for Jack Sherrill, Sherrill & Co., Savannah, Georgia, to communicate to Personal and Commercial lines clients a change in the insurance laws in the state that might have an impact on everyone. It lets clients know that the agent shares in the frustration. The letter could be faxed to Commercial Lines clients or written to Personal Lines clients.
Dear (Customer Name):THOSE '!!!XX##!!' INSURANCE LAWS ARE ABOUT TO CHANGE AGAIN!
As your insurance agent, I'm as frustrated about all the confusion as you are -- especially since it puts me in the role of the messenger with the bad news!
This quick note is to report yet another change in the Auto insurance laws that you should know about. As of October 1, No-Fault coverage in Georgia will be terminated. From a cost standpoint, this looks like good news; but from a protection standpoint, it gives us all some pause for thought particularly when it comes to Medical, death, and lost-wage benefits -- important coverages for you and your passengers, should you have an accident.
This is why we're recommending that each customer call us to discuss how we can handle this change as it impacts your particular situation. We'd be happy to help you chart the right path in terms of your insurance coverage.
Sincerely,
(Your Name)
