“Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence
wins championships.”

- Michael Jordan

So said an individual who was commonly recognized as one of the greatest “producers” in his field.  But even “MJ” recognized the importance of teamwork and collaboration.  As Helen Keller said, “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.”  The fact is, this is one of the aspects of “Social Media” that is not given enough attention.  Having a community of individuals united by common interest is a powerful tool at one’s disposal.  If you wandered into your local coffee shop, how many folks in there could you talk “Insurance” with?  Not many, I’ll bet.  Narrow that down with even further criteria, like “how many people could you talk about E&S lines of Insurance” with, and you can see that the odds are heavily stacked against you!

Some features on CompleteMarkets that allow you to do this brilliantly are Groups and Discussions.  These features contain targeted dialog with peers who are united in your same interests.  As is the nature of any group/team there will be varying levels of expertise there, differing viewpoints, and different levels of experience.  But that is exactly what sparks creativity, inspiration, and motivation.  In fact, you yourself may be able to help others there with knowledge you’ve gained in the arc of your career.  They say the best way to learn is to teach.  When you teach someone else, you have to first crystallize the information in your own mind, so you can share it effectively.

Another great feature about groups – often overlooked, or never even considered – is that they can be made private, as well.  Why would this be useful?  Imagine having your own “real estate” on the internet where any of your office personnel can log in, post comments, and collaborate in real time – all for FREE.  They can do this from any Internet-capable device.  And since it is a private group, no one (other than whoever the groups’ administrator allows) can see it!  To build a similar feature into your own website would cost significant money and time.  If utilized to its fullest potential, the value of this one feature could be astounding for your organization.

Set up or join a group on CompleteMarkets today, it’s easy!  Check out the Discussion section as well. (Must be logged in)  Utilize the tools available to you to become the most effective producer you can be.  If you need any help, the Customer Support staff at CompleteMarkets is second to none, and they will happily assist you.

Hmm it seems like your site ate my first comment (it was super long) so I guess I'll just sum it up what I submitted and say, I'm thoroughly enjoying your
blog. I too am an aspiring blog writer but I'm still new to the whole thing. Do you have any tips for rookie blog writers? I'd genuinely
appreciate it.

Thank you for reading and commenting. Not sure what happened with your first comment?

Writing is something that I feel gets better with practice. Most of us have been conditioned in the business world to give short, quick responses to everything. (Think bullet points.) As an indirect result, some find it difficult to create engaging content.

While you do want to be concise and get to your point quickly, blogs are an opportunity to educate and communicate with your audience. I find it is good to take a large complicated subject, and break it down into smaller bite-size pieces, which you can post as frequently as you wish, though the generally agreed upon sweet-spot (frequency-wise) is about 2X per week. It is akin to "drip marketing."

A good resource to check out on Blogging is "The Impact Equation" by Chris Brogan & Julien Smith.
