Ehh, it's spring outside the window, the asphalt has already melted, and therefore we decided to repeat the basic concepts of braking on a Kids Motorcycle , formalizing them in a small series of videos. With the rubber and the grip, we sort of figured out here and there, but in the last video we seriously analyzed the theory, it remains to understand how exactly to brake.
So, in this video we will tell you the main points and work with the front brake, and in the next ones we will analyze the use of the rear brake, engine braking, etc.
This video would not be needed if all Kids Motorcycle were equipped with ABS for a long time. But since most of us have to ride without it for now, today we're going to tackle one of the most important Kids Motorcycle skills - how to properly use the front brake.
So, on a Kids Motorcycle , it is the front brake that is the main one. Why? Because no matter what kind of brake you use, when braking, the weight always shifts forward by inertia. Due to the short wheelbase and the generally high center of gravity in motorcyclists, the front wheel is much heavier than the rear wheel, which practically hangs in the air when braking. Or completely breaks away from the asphalt - if you overdid it with braking and started to perform stoppies. This behavior is typical for motards, road builders and sportbikes - and it is for them that front brake braking is key. For cruisers and choppers, due to the long base and low center of gravity, the rear brake plays a larger role than other classes of motorcycles, but the front brake remains the main one.
First, turn off the gas
Because when you use the front brake and open throttle at the same time, the bike always falls if you don't have the clutch. Since on a motorcycle the throttle and the front brake are controlled by the same right hand, you need to learn how to close the throttle before you start braking. This is done simply - the brush closes the gas and moves away from itself. At the same time, the fingers are already starting to tighten the brake by twisting the hand.
